Paysafe Envision Formula E Team today has announced that Zak O’Sullivan will join the team as a full-time driver, stepping up after a year of development work within the team; including simulator duties, as well as driving in several rookie tests. O’Sullivan’s first run with the team came ahead of the Season 11 Jeddah E-Prix, where he made his Formula E debut during the Rookie Free Practice session.
“I am very excited to be joining the team full-time for the upcoming season," says O'Sullivan. "I’ve spent the last year embedding myself into the team and can’t wait to get the season started in the new GEN4 car.
"Formula E is a championship I’ve had my sights set on for a long time, so to be joining the grid for Season 13 at such an exciting time for the sport is a great feeling.” Since his first test with the team, O’Sullivan has driven the GEN3 Evo on a further three occasions during Season 12, in Berlin, Miami and Madrid– with the 21-year-old topping he timesheets during the Miami E-Prix rookie session. O’Sullivan arrives with an impressive racing CV. After numerous wins in karting, the British driver moved into single-seater racing and narrowly missed out on the 2020 British Formula 4 title before winning the GB3 Championship the following year. Two seasons in FIA Formula 3 followed, including four victories and the championship runner-up spot in 2023, before he stepped up to FIA Formula 2 in 2024 and claimed standout wins in Monaco and Spa-Francorchamps. O’Sullivan has since broadened his experience in Japanese Super Formula, adding further depth to a career that has already demonstrated speed, adaptability and racewinning pedigree across multiple categories. “We are very happy to announce Zak as a full-time driver for Season 13 and beyond," says Sylvain Filippi, Managing Director & CTO, Paysafe Envision Formula E Team.
"We’ve spent a lot of time with him during Season 12, and he has established himself in the team very well.
"We have been very impressed with Zak’s performance, both on the track during the rookie sessions, and his commitment off-track.
"We are very much looking forward to seeing him race in our car and embarking on his rookie season in Formula E with us.” Franz Jung, Vice President of Envision Energy and CEO & Chairman of the Board of Paysafe Envision Formula E Team adds: “It is great to confirm our driver line-up for Season 13, with Zak joining us for his rookie season in the sport. "Investing in young talent for the new generation of the sport was very important to us, and we are excited to see Zak step up into his new role as full-time driver. "With our driver-line up complete, title sponsorship confirmed and an incredibly exciting new era of the sport ahead of us, we are very much looking forward to round one.” Find out more
